About this title

The South Philadelphia kidnapper leaves no witnesses or clues. The only evidence is the absence of each victim--all of them young upwardly mobile businessmen.

And the stakes just got higher. One of the Homicide Department's top detectives has just suffered a heart attack during a failed decoy operation and the kidnapper has uncannily kidnapped the officer's partner. Suddenly the hunters have become the hunted.

West Palm Beach Deputy Sheriff Charley Banyon is drawn to Philadelphia and the criminal dubbed "the Stealth Stalker." When yet another ghost-like kidnapping undermines Banyon's intention to implement specialized intelligence techniques, both the Mayor and Governor issue an ultimatum. Banyon has one week.

What follows is a hectic conflict between a unique investigator of forensic evidence and a singularly unique villain. This is as fast-paced as life and death gets, and culminates in a deadly minute-by-minute finale. You might even run out of breath before you can finish this one!

About the Author:

Unlike many of the mainstream espionage/crime and thriller authors, Mel Savoie does not seek out and interview military veterans, investigators or intelligence officers experienced in foreign countries. For that sort of insider information Savoie need look no further than his own mirror.

A twenty-year Air Force veteran, Savoie served in the United States, North Africa and Korea. As an officer in the USAF Office of Special Investigations, he was a Special Agent conducting criminal, counterintelligence, and security investigations at home and abroad. In his capacity as a Special Agent, Savoie has written and edited literally hundreds of investigative reports and biographical sketches as well as contributed his expertise to numerous USAF publications.

His experience extends well beyond military service. Following his retirement from the Air Force, he was appointed as Chief of Security for the DC Public Library System and advanced to Security Chief for the Federal Reserve in DC.

Holding a B.A. with honors from the University of Maryland, he is married and the father of two sons. Savoie now resides in central Florida from where he calls upon his own insider information while writing novels like "The Pracktl Affair," "Pieces of Sand" and "Nobody Goes to the Moon Anymore."
