About this title

Synopsis:

Format Paperback Subject Poetry Inspirational Religious Publisher Xlibris Corporation United States

About the Author:

Irene's poetry is drawn from her varied background of experiences, in working her way through College - working in a factory with very low pay, as a Telephone Operator, as a Substitute Teacher. She worked for the US Government. She also worked as a Nurse in Connecticut, Maryland and Texas. She was a Den Mother and a Bible Study Teacher. She was Runner-Up in the nomination to the post of Florida's Poet Laureate in 1980. Irene worked in Real Estate for 9 years. She has lived in 8 different states and the Washington, DC area and has personally supervised the building and remodeling of 15 homes. She and her husband have raised 4 children who now live in California and Texas. She has 5 grandchildren. One of her sons grew up to write music - influenced by his Mother's poetic talent. While living in Florida she had 20 Bible study groups for women and couples, at one time, in various homes. In her book "The Anatomy of Tragedy" (orderable on-line at AnatomyofTragedy.com), Irene writes about the loss of her premature son named Daniel. She says, since the loss of this child, the loss of her younger sister to a tragic accident and losing her beloved father and mother, that "each makes for a 'drawing' toward Heaven". Irene does not consider her poems a work of art but rather a work of heart. Her poems have been read at funerals, hospitals, weddings and bedsides of the sick. Both friends and strangers continue to request them. A stranger Irene had never met recently passed away, and her husband found a dog-eared copy of one of Irene's poems tucked in her purse. She had always carried the poem with her, she said, because it had brought so much comfort to her when going through troubled times. Irene strongly b
