Apparently printed for private distribution for members of the Bohemian Club. 80 pp. A play written for the Bohemian Club by this California based author and playwright. Totheroh wrote the screenplay for The Devil And Daniel Webster, among others, as well as the novel Searching for the Sun, in which mid-westerners seek a better life in California, preceding Steinbeck's the Grapes of Wrath (New York Times Biography). The Bohemian Club was founded in San Francisco in the 1870s, being a members only club consisting of artists, musicians and journalists, as well as people in the business community. A Grove Play is staged every year, being an original work by a member of the club. GOOD+ condition. General fading, minor toning and some scuffing to the covers. Spine browned.
