Dark brown slipcase decorated with pictorial paste-on upon left side panel; rubbing and staining most prevalent to right side panel; shelf scuffing along bottom panel with short splitting at seams; some wear at corners and edges. Dust jacket panels and spine well toned/foxed with staining and soiling; a few short tears and wear at edges; front and rear flaps retain their original gray color. 248 pages. Hardcover: H 33cm x L 25.75cm. Light brown cloth with maroon lettering to spine and front board. Slight foxing to edges; past owner's personal bookplate affixed to front free endpaper verso; faint toning to front flyleaf recto; interior pages are otherwise quite clean. Binding is firm. A very good+ copy in a good dust jacket and a good slipcase. Classic review of notable structures in the South Carolina's coastal lowcountry region, the first edition of which was published in 1938.
