Description:

Paperback. 62 pages. Dimensions: 9.0in. x 6.0in. x 0.1in.The name Plastic Faith comes from an epiphany while trying to think up clever titles for my blog that were both edgy and meaningful. While doing this I came to a realization that all of us Christians who were raised in the church from a very young age wear an inherited plastic shell of pre-molded and pre-conditioned beliefs that were passed down to us from our parents, grandparents, church leaders, Sunday school teachers and others of spiritual influence in our lives. All of us who grew up in this environment are given this plastic suit to wear like a tiny outfit on Easter Sunday, dolled up and shown off, like tiny figurines. We are given it because those who came before us have worn it all their lives, and because of this, they expect and hope nothing less than our willingness and desire to believe and do as they have. As adults we then have to choose whether to continue to wear this plastic shell, or choose to dismantle and melt it, piece by piece, until we are left with nothing, only then can we say that we have developed a faith that is truly our own, that we worked out by Gods grace in fear and trembling.
