About this title

PLEASE STAND CLEAR OF APACHE ARROWS . . . She started the conversation by handing me a razor-sharp hand-made arrow, and without even fluttering an eyelash she said, “This goody missed my head by maybe half an inch. I found it rather annoying at the time–I’d just had my hair done.” I liked Jackie Hillary right off . . . –Excerpt From Please Stand Clear of Apache Arrows Would you believe an Apache arrow? In this day and age? In the sovereign state of New Mexico? Neither did Derek Morgan. And yet, how could he doubt his new love interest Jackie Hillary who insists she is the target? Hold onto your hats! Young Derek Morgan, who risked life and limb in The Day It Rained Sidneys is back in another story of mystery and mayhem, re-published by the author from the 1960's for modern readers to enjoy.

About the Author:

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Budd Westreich interrupted his studies at the University of Mexico to enlist in the U.S. Army. He won a Bronze Star for his work on the front lines in Korea as an artillery forward observer. After returning to college to earn bachelor’s and master’s degrees, Mr. Westreich taught in the United States for a few years before going as a full-bright exchange teacher to Portsmouth, England. Living in the intriguing atmosphere of this historic port inspired his favorite and most famous story, The Day It Rained Sidneys. The book you hold in your hands, Please Stand Clear Of Apache Arrows, brought back protagonist hero Derek Morgan in a story set in the author’s stomping grounds of New Mexico. The author, who has published numerous novels and many magazine stories for teenagers, also served as the Director of Public Information for the San Juan Unified School District in California. After acquiring a law degree, he has for the last 15 years been serving his community as a certified legal document preparer. He lives in Sacramento with his wife Alice who is the co-author with him of several books.
