Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Good+ condition. The book has sound hinges and does not lean. The book's pages are not soiled but there are a very few marks in the text. The previous owner's signature appears at the top edge of the front pastedown (inside front cover) and her signature and address appear on the back pastedown (inside back cover). There is a tiny dot of soiling at the top left edge of the back cover and another at the top right of the back cover. Otherwise, exterior covers and spine are completely clean with very slight discoloration from light exposure to the spine and periphery of the covers. The front cover of the book is just slightly bowed. The book's dust jacket is not price-clipped. It shows a little soiling here and there but is pretty clean overall. There is some rubbing to the photograph of Lin Yutang on the back panel and a few small chips or tears along top and bottom edges of the jacket. (Note: Photos may show a flash reflection.)
