About this title:

Synopsis: My mother, Lovella Bagley had ten children. She taught her family about Jesus and the biblical principles of His word. Her dream was to write a book about her husband and all her children. She was married to Lee Earnest Bagley, Sr. for sixty-five years; he went home to be with the Lord on December 12, 2009. My father had a good sense of humor and an extraordinary personality. He provided for his family by working at an apartment complex as a Supervisor of Plumbing- in Lubbock, Texas. In my upcoming book, “Why am I Here?” I will talk about specifics in our family’s life. Our mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at the age of seventy-five and I watched her sad face as the doctor gave her the news. I watched her go from a vibrant woman to being in a wheelchair. She was determined to finish writing her poetry in her journal because she was quickly losing her memory. Her impeding illness did not discourage her even though she continued to struggle to remember names, events and wording. Every night she wrote poems and short stories in her journal that she kept in a silver briefcase. Some years passed and my siblings and I became her caregivers. Throughout the years, I thought about that silver briefcase as our family had relocated to Dallas, Texas. My brother Rodney decided to take a trip to Lubbock, Texas to visit relatives. During his visit, Rodney went to his storage to get furniture and other items to take back to Dallas. As he walked through the storage he looked next to a wall and there laid the silver briefcase that held my mother’s poems. I was so excited; I knew there has to be a reason for us finding the silver briefcase. In my book, “Poems from the Heart of a Woman” it presents poetry written by my mother as well as myself.

About the Author: My name is Glenda Bagley, I am a single woman, I live in Mesquite Texas, and I am currently working for a home - health agency. As an aspiring writer I have always dreamed of publishing a book. I remember when I was about 15 years old; I started writing in a notebook. I began to putting rhymes together and writing poems for friends and family members. While, in high school I received various awards for my poetry submissions to the school as well as local newspaper in my hometown. In college I earned an associate's degree in Child Development and a certifi cate in Daycare Administration. I also, completed my junior year with credits in Elementary and Special Education. While in school I received various awards for my submissions to the school and the local newspaper. I can't describe the joy I felt when I saw my name in black and white. From that moment on, I had a feeling of satisfaction overcome me. I fi nally realized that all the poetry I had written over the years expresses the way I view the world. In my free-time I like to read, write, cook and listen to music. Also, I am taking online courses in Health Information Technology But being a caregiver is a huge responsibility, it occupies a lot of my time. In addition; I completed my junior year with several credits in Childhood Development. My dream is to walk into a store such as, Barnes and Nobles and see my books sitting on the shelves. At the present time, I am working on a few book ideas. One day, I hope to have my own internet business to sell and publish books. I hope to inspire friends and family members to follow their life- long dreams. I believe that all things are possible with God.
