Corners rubbed, and minor scuffing to spine leather; vol. 1 hinge started under front endpaper, but very firm; occasional minor marginal soiling; the usual staining (on books of this age) only evident on frontispiece of vol. 2 and title page of vol. 1; else a nice bright set with especially sparkling spines. Covers : boards + spine detached, corners worn, edges rubbed & scuffed ( the covers are complete and could be fully restored ) Contents : some small ink splots on title page ( offsetting onto tissue guard ), very slight browning to some plates, faint occasional foxing, possibly lacks title page to Vol II, slightknock rear top corner else clean & very tight.
