Corbould.Full contemporary blind-stamped plum calf, covers decoratively tooled in gilt, spine with three wide raised bands, decoratively tooled and lettered in gilt, gilt board-edges and turn-ins, marbled endpapers, marbled edges. Some very light marginal foxing. A fine copy. "By 1811 John Mitford had contemplated an edition of Thomas Gray's Works, and in 1814 he edited the first accurate edition of The Poems of Thomas Gray, with Critical Notes, a Life of the Author, and an Essay on his Poetry." Thomas Gray (1716-1771) was an English poet, letter-writer, classical scholar and professor at Cambridge University.
