Book Description Clarendon Press, Oxford, 1972. Hardcover. Condition: g+ to near fine. Reprint. Octavos. Light blue printed dust jackets with dark blue lettering on front covers and spines. Dark blue paper covered boards, with blind stamped publishers device on front covers, and gilt lettering and ruling on spines. Pages of some volumes uncut along bottom edge. The publication has been "edited from the manuscripts with textual and critical notes." Starting with the period of his youth, the set is a comprehensive survey of the poetical works of Wordsworth, and "aims primarily at supplying the reader with a sound text, together with an 'apparatus criticus' which will record its development from the earliest existing copy, through its successive stages in manuscript and print, till it received its final revision." The set is from the combined library of English professors and scholars Gwin J. Kolb and his son Jack Kolb, and has those names stamped or inscribed in pen at front free endpapers. Dust jackets sunned on spine and a bit around edges. Dj of vol.2 with light foxing to front cover, dj of vol.3 with some foxing and a 1.5" tear at the top edge. Some jackets with original price sticker at interior flap and 4 of the 5 jackets state "second edition" on the front covers. Light spotting and staining along top and side edges of books.
