366 + 573 + 387 + 493 + 201 pp. four volumes plus the supplemental volume, five volumes in all. In volume one the hinges is split and there is a modest bit of wear overall but still a presentable set. This set bears Watts-Dunton's bookplate and is extensively annotated, presumeably by him. There are 202 pages that have annotations for a total of 8521 words. Twenty-one pages have a hundred or more words of pencil notes on them. Watts-Dunton was a close friend to a number of poets and writers of the time, including Rosetti, George Borrow, William Morris, Swinburne, and Tennyson. Swinburne came to "The Pines" in 1879 and lived there with Watts-Dunton until his death in 1909. Twenty-one pages have a hundred or more words of pencil notes on them.
