Engraved first title page and engraved frontis portrait of the author. 348 pp. The complete poetical works of] Letitia Elizabeth Landon comprising The Improvisatrice, Golden Violet, The Troubador, Vow Of The Peacock, Venetian Bracelet, The Easter Gift, etc. A tight example, rubbing to the extremities and edges and foxing throughout. Landon, better known by here initials L.E.L., was a London-born poet and novelist; this volume was published the year after her death. While Landon, as with many of her contemporary female poets, passed out of popularity by the late 19th-early 20th century, but in recent deacdes she has been studies by scholars and critics.
