Merriam Co." on the front pastedown. Examples of 19th-century books retained in the libraries of their printers or publishers are now uncommon finds. 12mo. 336 (of 348) pp. Shaw & Shoemaker 20746. Contemporary mottled sheep, rubbed and worn, spine with gilt-stamped leather title label and paper shelving label. Front free endpaper lacking, front pastedown with Merriam stamp and pencilled notation, title-page with inked inscription in upper margin.
