Two Volume Set. pps. (xxii), 346 + (xii) + 329- 702. With 212 Illustrations, 16 photogravure plates, 5 maps, 2 color maps in rear pocket (in fine condition, no tears). Vol.1: very tight (rear hinge has repaired crack holding firmly). No marks. Slight foxing to front & rear pastedowns & endpapers. Small, light foxing to the margins of some photo-plates. Pictorial cloth clean, square. Cover illustration in black & gold very bright, sharp. Slight edgewear to top & bottom of spine, with very short, 1/4" tears. Vol.2 : condition same as Vol.1 (except front & rear hinges show repaired cracks, holding tightly. TEG. Despite minor flaws, a nice looking set.
