Uncorrected proof copy with bookplates specially designed for Main Point Books loosely inserted, signed by Alasdair Gray (Alasdair Gray did several events at Main Point Books including the art of the book cover). The proprietor of Main Point Books was the first to publish extracts from Alasdair Gray?s storyboard for Lanark. Although the Poor Things proof copy cover is text only, there is a strong possibility that the proof cover was designed by the author as it has his bold style of presentation. Also loosely inserted Bloomsbury Press publicity postcard (showing some of the cover art) dated 3 September 1992. Blanks or printed doodles as placeholders for artwork added in first edition. Card wraps in very good condition. Pages mildly toned. Poor Things, the film directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and starring Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo and Willem Dafoe, is an international success. The Gothic character of this novel is perhaps aptly represented in this proof copy: a tiny, delicate fly has been sealed under the lamination on the back cover (see photograph). Apart from this, the cover shows minimal signs of wear and is in very good + condition.
