This adventure was reprinted from the daily Thimble Theatre strips beginning in March 1936 and ending in June 1936, and features text and images on facing pages; here the classic comic hero and his pals must protect => "Eugene the Jeep," an exotic animal with mysterious fourth-dimensional talents, from scoundrels who want to use the Jeep to make money predicting the future. Eugene first appeared in Thimble Theatre in mid-March of 1936, making this almost certainly the character's first book-form appearance. 16mo (11.5 cm, 4.5"). 424, 4 (3 adv.) pp.; illus. Publisher's color-printed paper?covered boards; darkened, front cover detached, paper entirely lost from spine, edges and extremities rubbed. Pages browned and embrittled, with some tears and marginal chips, without loss of text or image; seven leaves with small burn spot in upper outer margin.
