Limited Edition. 1962 Edition limited to 2,000 copies published for members of the George Eastman House. NEAR FINE. Folding board portfolio contains 16 prints, tipped onto loose sheets of 11 x 14" cream colored stock as well as the 11 x 14" booklet of 21 pages bound in cinnamon colored paper wrapper. The booklet contains an Introductory Essay by Nancy Newhall, List of Plates, Notes, and Selected Bibliography. Plates and booklet are fine - light marginal toning to cream sheets, most noticeable on Plate I - not affecting or near photographs. Portfolio of taupe paper over boards with brown cloth spine is lettered in black on the front. The portfolio is lightly edge toned with a bit of bubbling to paper, primarily along bottom margins. There are a few tears to paper along inside hinges but is portfolio is otherwise fine. Plates include portraits (G.K. Chesterton, Mark Twain, William Butler Yeats, Arnold Dolmetsch) as well as landscapes (Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Long Beach, CA), cityscapes (London, Paris, New York, Pittsburgh) and "Vortograph."
