Half-length portrait if Giuseppe Mazzini (1805-1872), an Italian politician, journalist, and activist for the unification of Italy. Mezzotint and etching on chine-coll� (on wove paper), sheet size 313 x 390 mm., image size 201 x 253 mm., made by George Zobel (1810-1881) after Baron Louis Auguste Schwiter (1805-1889) and published by Giuseppe Milani in Venice, c. 1825-1881. In fair condition, horizontal and vertical creases around the image area (from previous framing, probably), a dampstain in the lower right corner, partly affecting the image area. Left edge browned.
