Add to basketPhilip Metman was a Dutch painter, and later in life psychologist in London. Woodcut on Japanese paper, sheet size 326 x 280 mm., image c. 230 x 215 mm. Made by Chris Lebeau and published in the Houtsnedenummer (Woodcut issue) of the famous periodical Wendingen in 1919 (year 2, nr. 7/8). It was printed by De Volharding and published by De Hooge Brug. Joris Johannes Christiaan Lebeau (Amsterdam 1878 - 1945 Dachau) was a Dutch designer, graphic artist, draughtsperson, and art teacher. He was arrested in 1943 by the German occupation and transported to Dachau, where he perished in 1945. In good condition, the left edge folded over. Some creasing in the edges of the very delicate paper.
