SIGNED and inscribed by author thus on reverse of decorative front free endpaper: "For ----------- With regards from the author, Martha Tracy Frey." Beneath this is a Christmas gift inscription from the giver to the same person to whom the author inscribed the book. The story of a family, descended from a long line of California pioneer ranchers and livestock breeders, who banded together in the 1930's to turn a rundown ranch in the Buttonwillow area of Kern into a profitable enterprise. Illustrated with black and white photographs in the text and color photos at back. Book is oversized at 8-34"x11-1/2" and has 420 pages, including Tracy family geneaology.
