A perfect copy of an equine classic! Oblong. 27 by 34 cm. 280 pp. George Morris, not to be confused with living top hunter/jumper trainer, was a leading equine and animal artist/illustrator of the mid-20th century, and this book is one of the most pleasurable horse books ever produced. Somehow the book conveys the relaxed, comforting atmosphere of a blue grass horse farm of yesteryear. In other words, the book captures the tug horses and equine sport exert on so many of us yet is not always requited in today's horse world. While there are elements of the book production itself that might seem "cheap", such as the low quality leather of the binding, the book comes together as a class act. This copy looks virtually untouched from the date it was first issued. It has a plain dust jacket -- not the pictorial dust jacket -- onto which there has been some offsetting of the color imagery on the front board, and perhaps some trivial fading of this imagery as a result. There is also a shadow of the dust jacket on the endpapers. Otherwise, a copy as good as brand new!. Bookseller Inventory #
