Add to basket9 x 11.75 inches (oblong), in colorful pictorial wrappers. Not paginated, but ca. 100 pp, extensively illustrated with half-tone photographs, blue decorative border on each page. Wrappers creased and soiled (esp. rear wrapper), contents clean, binding sound. This book was published on the occasion of the Tenth Annual Convention of the American Association of Port Authorities, held in Seattle in October of 1921. It contains a wealth of information on the resources, agricultural and industrial output, and development potential of the Puget Sound region. Articles include "The Commercial and Productive Life of the Pacific Northwest" by Ray Alden; "Seattle - the Seaport of Success" by George F. Nicholson; "The Port of Tacoma Prepares for Great Port Expansion" by G.W. Osgood; "The Ports of Bellingham and Blaine" by Taggart Aston; "Everett's Port Possibilities Guarantee its Future" by Marvin W. Smith; and "Gray's Harbor - Lumber Capital of Southwestern Washington" by W.L. Morris. These are followed by text and photos of individual companies and organizations "are leaders in their respective fields," including the Port of Seattle, Northwestern Fruit Exchange, Colman Creosoting Works, Alaska Steamship Co., Puget Sound Bridge and Dredging Co., Colby Steel & Engineering, Fisher Flouring Mills, and many others. The convention program and a menu from a dinner held by the American Association of Port Authorities at The Bungalow, Oct. 13, 1921, are laid in.
