This work gathers his letters written to the paper, with additions from private notes, as well as corrections and some omissions. Reflecting on the daily life of the soldier, Quint describes the troops movements through the South, as well as considering slavery, its effects and the ramifications of the Civil War. Included also are chapters on Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, etc. GOOD+ condition. Minor general fading and rubbing to the covers. Light soiling.
