About this Item

First edition. Forest green cloth lettered in gilt with small gilt design of a dry fly on front cover. xvii+216 pp. with appendix of "Proper Equipment for a Dry-Fly Angler Described Briefly" including a section describing the parts, colosr and appearance of a number of flies. Illustrated with drawings in the text. The first American full-sized work on dry-fly fishing, a work that resulted from a request to the author by Field and Stream Magazine in 1911 for a series of articles on American dry-fly fishing. A tight, very good example, front cover gilt bright with spine lettering just a touch less so. Minor wear at upper spine tips. Previous owner's signature front free endpaper. A small newspaper fishing poem clipping is affixed to the front endpaper with another affixed to the rear endpaper. Bit of faint tidemarking at the corners of the pages in the middle of the text block. A very acceptable example. Bookseller Inventory # E6917B
