About this Item

First edition. Blue paper covers. Bold stamped gilt front titles with white snowflake border. Gilt spine titles. 164 p. 19 cm. Deckled right and lower blocks. Stitched binding. Audience: General/trade. This is an original 1903 edition of this work, with the materials, look, and touchable-typeface feel consistent in publishing a century ago. Well-cared for by a small New Hampshire library. The type is large for a youthful audience, perhaps, or to expand the size of the book, enhancing early 20th century revenue. The journal entries begin "September fifteenth" through wash day, Monday, "June third". There are intervals between entries, often of several days. Good. Ex-library. Near very good with fine front cover. Early pages have lower soiling. Fine gilt top block. Uniform sun-fade to spine and front. A few abandoned bug pinholes, interior of rear board. Mount Pleasant Press. Harrisburg PA. Published April, 1903. Bookseller Inventory # Alibris.Bio0530007965

Store Description

Hi, Folks ... Mom said, 'I need to downsize'. Moving to assisted living, what she couldn't take included 8,000-plus books & records. A decade later, my upcountry barn is bursting. Books multiply as others recycle priorities. I now have 30,000 or more books (not yet all online) looking for good homes, and my learning curve has been a roller coaster. I celebrate word-crafters, thought-tumblers, laughter ... the arts of communication at every turn. I preserve, protect, and share. I am also Hedgehog Publishing, 'Words & Pictures by & for Folks with Prickly Backs, Soft Bellies, & Small Brains'.
