About the Book

Description:

Hardcover, red cloth in non price-clipped dust-jacket. 692pp., plus 26 page Index appended, Bibliography. Illustrated with photographs and maps. Stated First American edition. Dust-jacket protected by reinforced mylar covers. Not an ex-library copy, from a private collection. Mild toned marks inside covers where mylar had been affixed to inside boards. Some wrinkling to spine cloth as per usual with this edition. Evidence of mild shelf-wear to jacket, under mylar, with some yellowing to latter over time. The last of the great World War II commanders to pen his memoirs, Lord Tedder was the Commander of the Royal Air Force and Deputy Supreme Commander under Eisenhower. A thoroughly irresistible read, Tedder is irascible, caustic swaggering and emminently clear-headedl and honest (cum prejudiced). A clean, square, unmarked copy in a complete dust-jakcet with no tears or chips. Near very good in a near very good dust-jacket. Bookseller Inventory #
