16 p.; 21 cm. Signatures: [A]4 B4 (8vo). Woodcut title vignette. Disbound from a nonce volume. Evans, 37337. The author, Warren Dutton (1774-1857), was a lawyer from Connecticut who also served in the state legislature. This poem was his Master's oration at his commencement from Yale. In his Biographical Sketches of the Graduates of Yale College (1911), Franklin Bowditch Dexter describes Dutton's poem as "Unusually sprightly and clever" with a passage "given to the ridicule of Abraham Bishop's Oration on political delusion." In Very Good Condition: disbound; light foxing throughout; pages are otherwise clean and solid. Bookseller Inventory # 001583
