Book Description Prentice-Hall, Incorporated, Englewood Cliffs, NJ, 1967. Hardcover. Condition: VG+. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Arnold Roth (illustrator). Hardcover with original dust jacket, price unclipped. No handwriting or bookplates noted in book. Black cloth boards with gilt on spine. Yellow colored end pages, both pastedowns have pink marks which appears to be the binders glue that had reacted with the paper used. If not for that this book would be graded in fine condition. Someone reinforced the underside of the dust jacket edges with masking tape decades ago and the tape glue bled through to the front of the jacket. See photos. Seller Inventory # 50002402

Book Description Prentice Hall, New York, 1967. Cloth. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: VG. Arnold Roth (illustrator). Later Edition. First Prentice Hall edition, 1967. FDR One Evening Posed a "mystery plot" to Editor Fulton Oursler: "How can a man disappear with five million dollars in any negotiable form and not be traced?" The result was a chain mystery novel in which each chapter was written by a major author of the day -- Rupert Hughes, S.S. Van Dine, Samuel Hopkins Adams, John Erskine, and others. A unique and campy mystery, very entertaining, and with pop art illustrations by Arnold Roth. Something of an historical curiosity, and "just plain fun." Binding is clean and tight, with boards slightly faded in a few areas. DJ lightly foxed on rear and outer edge. (NB: The true first edition of this unusual book was first published as "The President?s Mystery Story," N.Y., Farrar, in 1935. First edition of this uncommon round-robin mystery based on a plot idea by Roosevelt. Copies are hard to find and sell for about $175.). Seller Inventory # 050458
