Davies, or Davys, was a highly respected lawyer, judge, statesman and man of letters. First issued in Dublin in 1615, Davies's Reports covers cases from 1604 to 1612. No other volumes were issued. Selected "principally for the use and benefit of our practisers here in Ireland," it soon became an oft-cited authority in England; It was praised by Willes, Lee and Lords Kenyon and Tindal.
