Artist s descriptive statement: It was one of those things where I had an idea in my head and had to get it on a copy of that book before it drove me crazy. Unfortunately, the best copy I came across was this Heritage press volume. The headbands are onlayed, and the the patches on the coat and hat are reverse side leather. All the stitching on the patches and title slip are of red Nigerian goat strips which are tucked top and bottom to better simulate sewn threads, and to prevent peeling. The top edge is spattered to match the headbands. If you are familiar with the story you will remember that the two little boys (one a prince & one a pauper) trade places thus, the princely robe with the pauper hat, and the pauper coat with the prince s crown. (1993). This is one of Linda Sandlin's larger size handcrafted design bindings made around 1992. Seller Inventory # ABE-203472438
