Original red and green cloth with gilt decoration and titles. A surprisingly well preserved set, each book tight, clean and unmarked, in gleaming cover gilt. These volumes each contain a year's run of the famed juvenile magazine with original contributions (in story and art) from Pyle, William Dean Howells, Kirk Munroe, Margaret E. Sangster, and other important names from the Harper cohort. These are not library-bound volumes, but books published and bound by Harper for home as well as public libraries. Scarce.
