About this Item

This self-published book is surprising indeed. It is 260 pages long, with an additional appendix. The author explains that he found Monaco fascinating, and as a philatelist, he was delighted to discover that its stamps illuminate its history. So he set out to write a history of Monaco, which he has done in detail, and then added a lengthy appendix in which stamps are to be placed, with a discussion of each stamp. No stamps are included, but there are two charming pieces of ephemera in a pocket at the back. The book was typed and reproduced by whatever means was used in 1961, not typeset, and this may well be the only existing copy. The book is bound in stiff paper boards, which have started to deteriorate on the edges, but the text is in quite nice condition. Fast shipping worldwide, with tracking number provided. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 35657
