These are the first 5 monthly issues of this magazine, containing 228 pages. The issues are bound with their illustrated woodcut frontispieces. "The Birth-Place of John Howard"; "The Ruins of Dudley Castle in Staffordshire"; "Laura Bridgman Teaching Oliver Caswell To Read, Both Being Deaf, Dumb and Blind"; "Brookline Reservoir"; "Fair-Mount near Philadelphia" (engraving). Tightly bound in 3/4 leather with marbled boards. The covers are well attached, with some rubbing and peeling to the leather and gilt lettering on the spine.
