Publisher's original highly textured green cloth, lettered in gilt on the front and front cover and with gilt floral decoration on the front cover, French marbled endpapers, 8vo. The contents follow -Volume 1: At Home and Abroad; Volume 2: Views A-Foot, or Europe; Volume 3: A Home and Abroad; Volume 4: Eldorado, Or Adventures in the Path of Empire; Volume 5: A Journal to Central Africa; Volume 6: A Visit to India, China and Japan in the Year 1853; Volume 7: The Lands of the Saracen: or Pictures of Palestine, Asia Minor, Sicily, and Spain; Volume 8: Northern Travel: Summer and Winter Pictures of Sweden, Denmark and Lapland; Volume 9: Travels in Greece and Russia with an Excursion to Crete; Volume 10: Hannah Thurston: A Story of American Life. This is the 'Caxton Edition' that is lettered in gilt on the front cover of each volume. This set has more volumes than other Putnam editions of this work. No ownership marks and no signs of use. Photos available on request. Volumes 1 and 7 have mild marginal water marks that do not reach the text, slight discoloration to rear cover of volume 1; otherwise a bright and clean copy in near fine condition.
