200pp. 8vo. First Edition. Green cloth with sharp gilt lettering on spine. Book has book plate of Christopher T. Bever (Sr.) inside cover; light staining along gutters front and back, due to endpaper board paste; else Very Good with no foxing. Dust wrapper has foxing around edges; small tears at three corners; tears of 7/8" (head) and 2 1/4" along spine at front left (foot upward), closed tear across spine, stopping at rear cover, front and back. Despite flaws, dust wrapper is still better than fair, so Good-, protected by mylar jacket. Lewin was co-founder and editor of The Psychoanalytic Quarterly. Laid in is SIGNED TYPED LETTER FROM LEWIN to T. Bever (Sr.), dated February 1, 1962, on The American Psychoanalytic Association letterhead stationery. The letter is mended with tape. Bever was born in Munich and emigrated in 1936 to the USA to Study at Harvard, later graduating from Harvard Medical School. He was a founder of the Washington Psychoanalytic Society's clinic, along with several other clinics providing low-cost mental health services, including the D.C. Institute of Mental Hygiene.
