About this Item

This copy of Pattison's still-read book was owned by the Pattison Family. It has a bookplate inside the front cover, with the name Francis Wayland Pattison, grandson. The FFEP is inscribed "Frank W. Pattison, from his Mother, Sep. 1904. (Maria Louise Dowd). Tipped into the book is a small pamphlet commemorating an address given Oct. 23, 1929, By the rev. William Henry Spence, and two very yellowed, folded pages with copious notes either from the original book or from the address. There is no signature or date on the folded papers. The pages of this book are in very good condition and there is no major foxing or yellowing. The cover, which has a leather spine and corners, is very edgeworn, and chips of dried leather are missing from the spine. The back hinge is torn, but the book is very intact for its condition.
