True first printing in plain blue boards with orange lettering, orange silhouette with magnifying glass and orange and white endpapers inside. Exterior boards are dampstained and there is a cup ring, but contents are clean and unmarked. With plain frontis, and book lits to self on copyright page. Last title of other Nancy Drew adverts at the rear lists to The Mystery of the Moss-Covered Mansion, indicating the first printing. There is a war blurb on the title page and the pages are "tanned". All flaws are covered with a colorful facsimile of a later jacket (with correct cover illustration).
