Small 8vo in printed wrappers. 72 pp. plus contents and advertisng section at rear. "Readings, Recitations, Declamations and Dialogues, For School, Parlor and Platform". Collection of short pieces by notable authors of the day, the most notatble being Mark Twian, whose short piece "How To Cure A Cold" appears, The piece was first written by Twain in 1863 shortly after hearrived in San Francisco and first appeared in that city's "Golden Era" in September of that year. Twain continually revised the piece and its final version eventually appeared in "Sketches Old and New" published the same year as this magazine.
