8vo in printed wrappers. Sequentially numbered pp.224-296 plus advertising section at rear. Quarterly magazine devoted to elocution containing "Readings, recitations, declamations and dialogues fro school, parlor and pltform." This issue contain's Twain's short speech "New England Weather" originally given at The New England Society's dinner on December 22, 1876 and containing one of his most famous quotes, "If you don't like the weather in New England now, just wait a few minutes." The speech was quoted in its entirely in The New York Times the following day; this is one of the earliet seperate appearances in magazine or book form . A tight, very good or better example, wraps lightly toned and with some staining along the edge of the rear wrap. Some light foxing to te title page. Bookseller Inventory # E14053B
