About this Item

A very good copy of a fragile, very uncommon work on the cubist painter Andre Lhote. The primary text is by Mercereau, but a wide range of critical commentaries on Lhote by Guillaume Apollinaire, Andres Salmon, Rene Jean, Waldemar Georges, Jacques Riviere, Joachim Gasquet, and numerous others. This copy is in the original wrappers, which are worn along the spine, the stitching is split at the interior at one spot, and it is still in the original glassine jacket which is chipped along the edges. The front and back panels of the wrappers are generally well-preserved. The text includes 18 tipped-in plates of Lhote's work, including one plate in color. This is an unnumbered copy from an edition of 500. Bookseller Inventory # 013551
