Original Cloth. 8vo. XXXIII, 749 pages. 24 cm. First edition. Complete in two volumes. Gilt inscription on cloth of both volumes, "Presented to Rabbi Robert Lehman". On first endpage of volume one, contains finely written dedication, dated 5 Adar 11, 5719, from the Jewish Community Center of Paramus. Robert Lehman, a refugee from Nazism, served as Rabbi in New York and New Jersey, as well as in Vienna. Rabbi Lehman was a former president of the New York Association of Reform Rabbis and the American Federation of Jews from Central Europe. He served on national committees of the Central Conference of American Rabbis and on the executive committee of the World Gathering of Jewish Holocaust Survivors. Bibliography: v. 2, p. 703-719. Both a biography of Rabbi Meir of Rothenburg, a collection of his responsa translated from manuscripts, and a history of Jewish life in thirteenth century Germany.
