About this Item

The story of Randy Matson, a remarkable all-around athlete from Pampa, TX who started breaking records in the shotput and discus while in high school and then won a silver medal in the Olympics while a freshman at Texas A&M. He went on win the gold medal in 1968 Olympics and to set the world record in the shotput. Prolific author's first book, it is signed on the title page. The book is without flaws, tightly bound, with no names or markings. The DJ is price clipped and shows some rubbing on the rear cover and the rear flap is partially split but that has been expertly repaired with archival tape. Now bright and shiny in a mylar cover.
