Green cloth with gilt title and author in a double-ruled gilt box on the front cover and with gilt letters on the spine, plus a gilt vignette on the front cover of a fishing reel. Top edge gilt, fore- and bottom edges untrimmed. Just touches of wear to extremities, cloth clean, gilt bright, many, many pages uncut, all illustrations present and in fine condition, tissue guard fine, pencil gift inscription on front free endpaper ["Trayln (?) W. Bell / from / his Father & Mother / Nov 9th, 1910], else near fine to fine with no internal markings. No dust jacket. An extraordinary copy of this well-known book. Charles Frederick Holder [1851-1915] wrote several books, including the following: LIFE IN THE OPEN, THE LOG OF A SEA ANGLER, BIG GAME FISHES OF THE U.S. AND LOUIS AGASSIZ.
