About this Item

Folding die-cut menu in the form of a sailing ship printed in red inside with the menu and a drawing in red of a sailing ship logo and with two separate menus stapled to each side as part of the original menu and which show specials, as well as other information about Red Sails Inn,Tthe "Sea Food"Center. The front panel has a brilliantly colored image of a sailing ship, the "Red Sails", in red, blue, green and yellow set against a setting sun and with a life-saving ring superimposed on the sail that shows an artist's sketch of Red Sails Inn complete with the red sailing ship atop the roof! The artist's name is listed as Roy. The rear panel has a poem by Abbie Farewell Brown, entitled "The Fisherman", as well as information about the suppliers of fish and food: Arden Farms, Inc.; Star Fisheries; Leo Greenbaum (vegetables and fruits); Young's Market; and San Diego Fish Company, Ltd. Just a few minor dings around the edges, a 3/4" tear at the bottom of the front panel (repaired with archival tape), just a touch of rust on the staples, to small tape stains on the lower inside edge of the rear panel, else near fine to fine with no other markings--in extraordinarily good condition for a piece of San Diego ephemera so fragile! Front panel includes these further descriptions: "Red Sails Inn, An Eating Place That is Really Different" and "Red Sails Inn 'On Fisherman's Wharf'." Red Sails Inn was located at 654 Habor Drive, Foot of G Street, San Diego, California. Bookseller Inventory # 008321
