PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY OF THE LEGISLATURE, UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE BUREAU OF GEOLOGY AND MINES. 324, i-iv pages. Hardcover; H 25.25cm x L 17cm. Original dark green cloth, some fraying at spine ends with small cloth loss at heel, spine's gilt stamped lettering remains quite bright, board corners scuffed. No exterior library marks present and with only a few fairly discreet interior library marks readily apparent upon a quick perusal including a shelf reference number handwritten in ink on front pastedown, Academy stamps on title page and verso, blindstamp on page 7, and ink notation on rear free endpaper. Pencil signature of geologist P.F. Morse [Paul Franklin Morse, 1897-1929], son of prominent University of Mississippi geologist William Clifford Morse (1874-1962), also on front pastedown. Binding is firm. Still an attractive copy. With color frontispiece, county maps (of which several are in color), other illustrations and foldouts, and Index. Features twenty chapters reviewing the counties of Maries, Osage, Warren, Shelby, Macon, Randolph, Miller, Morgan, Saline, Ozark, Douglas, Wright, Laclede, Pulaski, Phelps, Crawford, Cape Girardeau, Perry, Ste.
