Reprint (perhaps circa late 1940s). [8], 365, [11] pages. Hardcover: H 19.25cm x L 13cm. Dust jacket features front panel color illustration by N.C. Wyeth (albeit uncredited) showing bow and arrow-wielding Tarzan with left arm stretched to high tree limb against a jungle background; rear panel has brief biographical blurb regarding Burroughs and list of his novels. Dust jacket rubbed with light toning and soiling, shallow chipping at ends of white spine panel, minor chipping and nicks at front panel edges with 2cm closed tear and strong crease at lower right, yellow rear panel has slight nicking and two negligibly short tears at edges, strong crease to rear flap's bottom corner; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Red cloth, black lettering to spine and front board, spine head frayed. Muted yellow top edge; light toning and soiling to fore-edge and bottom edge. Ink ownership inscription and name/address label on front pastedown; partially peeled remnant of Greenwood, Mississippi retail store (Fountain's Big Busy Store) price sticker affixed at front free endpaper's top right corner. B/w decorations (i.e. chapter headpiece illustrations) by J. Allen St. John. A few scattered light brown stains to interior pages which, overall, remain quite clean. Binding is firm.
