About this Item

INSCRIBED ON THE FRONT FREE ENDPAPER as follows: "To my dear Josephine / From / Alice Fitchett Hildebrand / Feb 25 '47." 8vo. (22 cm.) 157p. Black cloth with gilt letters on the front cover and the spine. Small black and white photo of the author on the rear panel of the dust jacket. Just touches of wear to extremities, cloth clean, gilt bright, else near fine to fine with no internal markings. Dust jacket somewhat soiled, with several small tears around but most all there and not price-clipped. Carlton Fitchett came to Washington state towards the close of its territorial days. He was a lifelong journalist, spending most of his time on the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. He is perhaps best known for his REDISCOVERING WASHINGTON. RIMES OF A REPORTER is a collection of Fitchett's verse in paragraph, somewhat narrative style. I can only assume that the Alice Fitchett Hildebrand of the gift inscription is the daughter of Carlton Fitchett., but I do not kknow this for certain. Bookseller Inventory # 006834
