One of 1250 numbered copies of tghe special "Timberline Edition" signed by both authors OF WHICH THIS IS COPY NO. 1. Oversized in grey buckram cloth stamped in gilt. Pictorial endpapers. Folding map in rear pocket. 380 pp. Illustrated throughout with photographs and reproductions. A fine, fresh example in the original glassine dust wrapper, also fine as well as the slipcase with full color illustration tipped on, light rubbing but fully intact. Pictorial history of the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad, originally envisioned and constructed to serve the mining towns of the Rocky Mountains, places such as Leadville, Canon City, Creede and Durango. Laid in is the original tri-fold illustrated advertising mailer for the book, mailing folds but otherwise fine. Appaerently the fellow who received (and kept) this mailer was quite prompt with his order as he got copy No. 1. Bookseller Inventory # GE15308
