About this Item

3pp.typed manuscript poem with several minor corrections.A poem of quite radical sensibilities. The last lines of the poem read: "This coming summer a magnified sun rebels, burning New New Amsterdam beyond past fomal identification." Written in pen at the bottom of the page is Luce's name and address.Clearly this poem was written before his break with the Left in the mid 60s.Luce was a member of the Communist Party and a leader in the Progressive Labor Party before becoming staunchly conservative and spokesperson against the New Left both as a speaker and writer.
